Help Little Learners Take Their First Steps Towards a Bright Future!

Milk Education is excited to be working with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Leeds, who are looking for a caring, energetic and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in children’s early development, helping them build confidence, discover new skills and develop a lifelong love of learning. No two days will be the same — from creative activities and storytelling to outdoor learning and celebrating those all-important “first achievements,” you’ll be helping young learners grow every day.

Your Role:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering exciting, creative and play-based activities in line with the EYFS Framework
  • Work with individual children and small groups to support their learning, development and confidence
  • Encourage communication, language, early literacy and numeracy through fun and engaging activities
  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive and stimulating learning environment where every child feels safe and valued
  • Support children’s personal, social and emotional development while encouraging independence and resilience
  • Help children develop positive relationships, confidence and important social skills
  • Assist with observations and contribute to monitoring children’s progress where appropriate
  • Prepare exciting learning resources and help maintain an organised, engaging classroom
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff and parents/carers
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour throughout the school day

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children in an Early Years, nursery, preschool, childcare or primary school setting
  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning — desirable but not essential
  • Brings warmth, patience, creativity and plenty of positive energy
  • Is passionate about helping young children learn, grow and achieve
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Can build trusting relationships with children, colleagues and families
  • Is proactive, reliable and ready to get involved
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding, or is willing to complete relevant training

What’s in It for You?

  • Competitive daily rates of pay.
  • A rewarding full-time role within a friendly and supportive Leeds primary school
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference from the very beginning of the academic year
  • Access to ongoing CPD and professional development through Milk Academy
  • FREE training to help you develop your skills and confidence
  • A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement
  • Valuable experience for future careers in Primary Teaching, Early Years Education, Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy and other child-focused professions
  • Access to wellbeing resources and community support initiatives
  • The opportunity to build a rewarding and long-term career within education

Ready to Make Every Day an Adventure?

Whether you are an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant, a Nursery Practitioner looking to move into a primary school, a graduate considering a career in education, or someone with transferable experience supporting young children, we would love to hear from you!

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
