Full-Time | Temporary | September 2026

What if your first graduate role could change a child's future as much as it changes your own?

Have you been searching for a career that offers purpose, progression, and the chance to support some of the most inspiring young people in education?

Would you like to gain specialist SEN experience while working alongside experienced educators and therapists in a highly supportive setting?

On behalf of a warm, inclusive and highly supportive SEND specialist school in the Warrington area. We are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates (or those graduating this academic year) who are serious about building a career in education and want meaningful, hands-on experience from day one.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver focused 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
• Work alongside teachers to support engaging, accessible lesson delivery
• Support pupils’ academic progress as well as their social and emotional development

Who We’re Looking For:
• Graduates with a 2:2 degree or above (Psychology, Education, Core Subjects or related preferred) – this can be a predicted grade for 2026 graduates
• Calm, patient and genuinely motivated individuals who want to make a difference
• Some experience working with children or young people (school, tutoring, mentoring, youth work etc.)
• A strong interest in SEN and supporting pupils with additional needs
• Must have the right to work in the UK

About the School:
This Warrington-based specialist SEND provision is recognised for its nurturing, therapeutic approach and unwavering commitment to helping pupils with complex additional needs achieve their full potential. With a strong focus on communication, emotional wellbeing, independence and personalised learning, staff work collaboratively to create a structured and supportive environment where every young person can thrive both academically and socially. The school benefits from a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, ensuring pupils receive tailored support that reflects their individual strengths, needs and long-term aspirations.

The school has a strong reputation for developing graduate support staff, providing outstanding mentoring, training and hands-on experience within specialist education. Many former graduates have progressed into teacher training, educational psychology, speech and language therapy and wider SEND-related careers. For an ambitious graduate, this role offers an excellent foundation for a long-term career supporting children and young people with additional needs, whilst gaining invaluable experience in a highly rewarding setting.

If you’re ready to step into a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role where every day makes a difference, and you want to build real experience in a supportive school environment, we’d love to hear from you.
