A well-established and ambitious primary school in Brent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Business Manager to join its leadership team on a permanent basis with an immediate start.

About the Role

As School Business Manager, you will play a key role in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school’s non-teaching operations. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders, you will ensure that the school runs efficiently and effectively across all business functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on financial management, including budgeting, forecasting and monitoring expenditure
  • Overseeing HR functions, including recruitment, contracts, and staff compliance
  • Managing premises, health & safety, and site operations
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and school policies
  • Leading on administration systems and operational processes
  • Supporting strategic planning and contributing to school improvement priorities

This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who is proactive, highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Who We’re Looking For

The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional, ideally with a strong background in school business management.

Applicants should:

  • Have proven experience as a School Business Manager (preferred) or in a similar senior operational/financial role
  • Hold relevant qualifications such as the CSBM, DSBM, or equivalent, or demonstrate significant relevant experience
  • Possess strong financial management and budgeting skills
  • Have a solid understanding of HR processes, compliance and health & safety within a school setting
  • Be an excellent communicator with strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Be able to work strategically while also managing day-to-day operations
