Assistant Accountant (Dealership Experience)

Join a dynamic Finance Team in Stoke-on-Trent.

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their established and fast-paced finance team in the motor industry. Reporting directly to the dealership accountant, this role plays a key part in supporting financial operations across sales and service departments.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with motor dealership finance experience who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys responsibility and variety.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily bank reconciliations and weekly cash-flow forecasting
• Production of weekly and monthly management reports
• Vehicle and stock monthly write-downs
• Monthly accruals and profit reconciliation
• Maintenance of payables and receivables ledgers
• Management and upkeep of the fixed assets register
• General ledger maintenance
• Providing ad-hoc finance support to other dealerships when required

About You

• Minimum 18 months’ experience in a dealership finance role (highly desirable)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Proactive, highly organised, and detail-oriented
• Strong reporting and reconciliation skills
• Working knowledge of Kerridge and ADP Accounts software is advantageous
