The Science faculty consists of 14 subject specialists, including dedicated leads for Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The Physics curriculum is carefully sequenced from Year 7 foundations through to GCSE mastery. Practical experiments are embedded throughout, supported by two full-time laboratory technicians. Lessons follow a consistent whole-school model built around retrieval practice, explicit modelling, guided practice and independent application. Data is used carefully to identify misconceptions early and support intervention. The department meets weekly for subject-specific CPD, including exam question modelling, practical standardisation and curriculum refinement.
