To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our team.  Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Site Operations will be responsible for all aspects of our Nottingham site, including landlord relationship and lease management, capital project and space planning, maintenance, health and safety, and compliance.

Principal responsibilities will include:

  • Lease and real estate management.
  • Landlord relationship management within a multi-occupancy site.
  • Capital project planning and overseeing refits of both laboratory and office space.  Managing all external contractors and relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Line management of the Facilities Manager, ensuring that the Facilities team are supported in their delivery of a high-quality service to the scientific departments and support services teams.
  • Occupancy and space management.  Working with department heads and HR to maximise the effective use of lab/office space.
  • Company lead for site maintenance management – developing and implementing a planned maintenance programme for the estate, including accurate record keeping and cost management.
  • Negotiating site related contracts. 
  • Coordination of emergency management and business continuity activities and plans.
  • Continually reviewing and making recommendations for improvements to site security and facilities.  
  • Working with the Head of Health and Safety in ensuring the company properly discharges its duties under its Health and Safety Policy; the Health & Safety at Work Act; COSHH regulations; and any other relevant statute, regulation, or directive, and contractors operate safely in accordance with these same statutes, etc.
  • Full compliance with all other relevant current statutory obligations including building regulations.
  • Working closely with IT.
  • Making recommendations to the COO regarding future site needs and opportunities.

To succeed in the role, you will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in a commercial site management role - hands on experience of project management, contract negotiation and management, and stakeholder relationship management.
  • An in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and the impact of these regulations on the company’s operations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A can-do, problem-solving attitude allied to well-developed influencing and communication abilities.
  • Experience of managing expenditure against budgets and ensuring accurate record keeping of all activities.
  • Experience of successful team leadership and line management responsibilities.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, etc.
