The Role

Are you a confident and experienced sales professional ready to join the team as an Energy Consultant?

This is a target-driven, outbound sales role focused on generating new business. You will be responsible for prospecting, speaking directly with business owners, directors and other decision-makers, developing opportunities and taking them through the full sales process from initial contact to close.

The business provides sales data, with additional leads generated through dedicated lead generators and specific campaigns. You will be responsible for contacting prospects, generating interest and converting opportunities into sales.

This role is office-based in Birkenhead, Monday to Friday, 8:45 am to 4:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new business through outbound telephone sales
• Contact prospects using data supplied by the business
• Develop interest and convert prospects into customers
• Manage the full sales process from initial contact through to close
• Speak confidently with business owners, directors and other decision-makers
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Handle objections and have commercially focused conversations
• Meet and exceed agreed sales and activity targets
• Manage your own pipeline and follow up opportunities
• Work with leads passed through by the business and lead generators
• Maintain accurate customer records using Paradigm, the company's energy CRM
• Develop your knowledge of the business energy market
• Take responsibility for generating and managing new business opportunities

Requirements

Essential

• Proven sales experience with a clear track record of achieving targets
• Strong confidence and ability in telephone sales
• Experience working in a target-driven sales environment
• Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls
• Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills
• Confident speaking directly with business owners, directors and other decision-makers
• Ability to manage the full sales process from prospecting through to close
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Resilience, determination and a results-focused approach
• Good organisation and pipeline-management skills
• Confidence working independently and taking ownership of results

Desirable

• B2B sales experience
• Outbound telephone sales experience
• Experience in energy, utilities, telecoms, insurance, finance, recruitment or another highly target-driven industry
• Experience selling directly to business owners or senior decision-makers
• Experience using CRM systems
