Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced Steel Operative to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Walsall area.

THE ROLE

• Assist with the operation of mill machinery and production equipment.

• Load and unload raw materials and finished products safely.

• Feed materials through machinery and monitor the production process.

• Carry out basic checks and adjustments to machinery where required.

• Measure and check materials to ensure they meet job requirements.

• Handle and move steel and other materials around the production area.

• Use hand tools and basic equipment as required.

• Assist with setting up machinery and preparing materials for production.

• Identify any issues with machinery, materials or finished products and report them.

• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working area.

• Follow production schedules and work instructions.

• Carry out general duties within the mill and assist other members of the production team when required.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience working within a mill, steel or manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

• Capable of working around large machinery and handling heavy materials.

• Good understanding of general manufacturing and production processes.

• Comfortable working as part of a busy production team.

• Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling duties.

• Good awareness of health and safety within an industrial environment.

• FLT licence is desirable.

• Overhead crane licence/experience would be advantageous.

• Reliable, practical and willing to get involved with a range of production duties.

HOURS OF WORK

Monday to Friday 14:00pm – 22:00pm

£13.04ph
