TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist Alternative Provision in Swindon to recruit a dedicated HLTA. The school provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment for pupils who have experienced barriers to mainstream education, placing relationships, wellbeing and personalised learning at the heart of everything they do.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time HLTA on a long-term basis from September 2026. The successful HLTA will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to deliver targeted interventions, lead learning activities for individuals and small groups, and support pupils with SEMH needs to re-engage with education, develop positive behaviours and achieve successful outcomes both academically and personally.

The successful HLTA will have:

• HLTA status or relevant equivalent experience
• Experience working within an Alternative Provision, SEMH school or specialist educational setting
• Experience supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach to supporting young people
