KPI Education is working with an established Alternative Education provider to recruit a Vocational Hair & Beauty Tutor / Assessor to work across sites between St Helens and Bury.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Hair & Beauty professional who combines strong industry knowledge with the ability to teach, assess, mentor and motivate young people.

Many of the learners within the provision have struggled within mainstream education. Your role will be to make learning practical, engaging and relevant while helping students develop the skills, confidence and qualifications they need for their next steps.

The Role

As a Vocational Hair & Beauty Tutor / Assessor, you will deliver practical Hair & Beauty programmes while assessing learners against the relevant vocational standards.

You will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engaging Hair & Beauty sessions
• Assessing learners against vocational qualification standards
• Completing observations, assessments and learner portfolios
• Developing schemes of work and curriculum materials
• Creating practical, hands-on learning experiences
• Tracking attendance, progress, achievement and outcomes
• Providing individual coaching, feedback and mentoring
• Supporting learners with confidence, communication and employability
• Building positive and professional relationships with young people
• Maintaining salon areas, classrooms and equipment
• Completing all required learner and compliance documentation
• Supporting safeguarding and learner welfare
• Helping students progress into further education, apprenticeships, training or employment
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders

What We're Looking For

An Assessor qualification is essential for this position.

Applicants must have a recognised assessing qualification such as A1, D32/D33, TAQA/CAVA or equivalent.

You will also need strong occupational experience within the Hair & Beauty sector and the confidence to deliver and assess practical vocational learning.

You could currently be working as a:

Hair & Beauty Assessor | Hairdresser | Beautician | Vocational Tutor | FE Tutor | Salon Trainer | Hair & Beauty Lecturer | Vocational Trainer

Experience working within Alternative Provision, FE, training providers, apprenticeships or with vulnerable young people would be highly advantageous.

Most importantly, you'll need to be approachable, resilient, organised and engaging, with the ability to establish clear expectations while building positive relationships with learners.
