Milk Education are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated RE Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Darlington from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RE Teacher, or an ECT looking to develop their experience, to join a supportive school and deliver engaging Religious Education lessons across the secondary age range.

The Role

As an RE Teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging RE lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • Supporting students to develop their knowledge, understanding and critical thinking
  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress
  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom management
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Humanities Department
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

The successful RE Teacher will:

  • Have QTS or equivalent teaching status
  • Have experience teaching RE within a secondary school setting
  • Have strong subject knowledge
  • Be confident teaching across KS3 and KS4
  • Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Be passionate about supporting students to achieve their potential
  • Be reliable, adaptable and committed to providing high-quality lessons

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
