We’re currently recruiting for Graduate Teaching Assistants to work across our partner schools in Walkden on a day-to-day, short-term, long-term or temp-to-perm basis, starting September 2026.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of warm, nurturing and ambitious schools, where pupils are encouraged to feel a strong sense of belonging, develop confidence and become independent, resilient learners. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities across the curriculum.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils to help them achieve their learning goals.
• Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Providing additional support for pupils with SEND and adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, teachers and wider school staff.
• Assisting with classroom preparation, organisation and learning resources.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to meet pupils’ individual needs.
• Developing your understanding of teaching, learning and classroom practice through hands-on experience.
• Upholding safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of all children and young people.

Requirements or Skills:

• A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
• A genuine passion for education and supporting children’s learning and development.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• A willingness to learn and develop your skills within a school environment.
• A flexible, adaptable and reliable approach to working across different school settings.
• The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
• Confident supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm learning environment.
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting teachers and pupils.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
