SEND Learning Support Worker

Milk Education are working with a primary school in Southport who are seeking a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to work across Key Stage 3 and 4. The School are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and accommodating to the child’s learning needs for this SEND Teaching Assistant position.

This 1:1 TA role will involve keeping the child on task. You will also be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensure the child’s needs are met. In this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.

Teaching Assistant- Role & Responsibilities:

• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
• Working closely with a child with autism and meeting his needs
• Supporting the classroom teacher with child engagement and behavior
• Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate

Essential Qualifications:

• Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, specifically those with SEND, ideally experience with autism.
• Must have a passion for education
• Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
• Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher

• Must be reliable and punctual
