Milk Education is seeking caring, resilient and dedicated Pastoral Support Workers to work across a range of schools in South Manchester from September.
We are looking for professionals with experience supporting children and young people with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour, engagement and personal development.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Pastoral Workers, Behaviour Mentors, Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Youth Workers and Support Workers who enjoy building strong relationships with young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
You'll work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and wider school staff to provide individualised support, helping pupils feel safe, supported and able to engage positively with education.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small-group pastoral support to pupils
Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement
Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
Deliver mentoring and targeted interventions where appropriate
Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships
Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and wider school staff
Support pupils who may be experiencing barriers to learning or attendance
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience supporting children or young people in an educational, youth work, care or similar setting
Experience supporting behaviour, SEMH or emotional wellbeing is desirable
Experience as a Pastoral Worker, Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker or Support Worker is welcomed
A calm, patient and empathetic approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Confident supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis
Relevant education, youth work, SEND or pastoral qualifications are desirable but not essential

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience and the requirements of the assignment.
