We are seeking an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our thriving Welsh-speaking primary school in Aberdare. This is a unique opportunity to lead our Nursery class and play a key role in shaping the educational journey of our youngest learners.

The Role

As our Nursery Lead HLTA, you will:

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Nursery class.

  • Deliver engaging, creative, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences through the medium of Welsh.

  • Work closely alongside three dedicated Teaching Assistants, developing a strong and effective team focused on achieving the very best outcomes for children.

  • Support children's social, emotional, language, and physical development in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

  • Collaborate with school leaders, staff, and parents to ensure every child thrives and reaches their full potential.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold our values of respect, inclusion, and community spirit.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds HLTA status or an equivalent recognised qualification.

  • Is fluent in Welsh and committed to promoting the Welsh language and culture.

  • Has experience working within an Early Years setting.

  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • Is passionate about delivering high-quality early years education.

  • Can inspire and motivate both children and colleagues.

  • Has a positive, proactive approach and enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
