We’re currently recruiting for a Learning and Progress Mentor to join a Primary School in Houghton le Spring on a long or short-term basis starting in September. You’ll be joining a supportive, inclusive school that puts wellbeing and community at the center 

of everything they do. 

The role:

• £107.71 daily rate
• Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 15:30pm
• Temporary contract, long term, full time
• Based in a Primary School in North Durham
• September Start

This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups, responding to their individual needs
• Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps
• Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources
• Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong

Requirements or Skills:

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting
• Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills
• Genuine passion for supporting young people
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
