The Role

As a Graduate Maths Unqualified Teacher, you will work closely with experienced Maths teachers and senior leaders to support learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to gain experience in Key Stage 5 where appropriate. You will gradually take on more teaching responsibility as your confidence and skills develop, supported by ongoing mentoring and high-quality training.

You will gain valuable experience in lesson delivery, classroom management, assessment, and student progress tracking, while contributing to an engaging and supportive Maths department.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Support students in developing mathematical understanding, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Lead targeted 1:1 and small group Maths interventions to close learning gaps and raise attainment.
• Assist with lesson planning, resource preparation, marking, and assessment within the Maths department.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in line with school policies.
• Encourage student engagement, resilience, and confidence in Mathematics.
• Work collaboratively with Maths teachers, support staff, and pastoral teams to maximise student outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
• Strong academic background with excellent mathematical knowledge.
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Maths teaching or education.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• A proactive, professional, and resilient approach to working in a school environment.
• Experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or youth work) is desirable but not essential.
