KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant- Standish

Milk Education are working with a Primary School in Standish (WN6) who are seeking a full-time KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant to work 1-2-1 with a child in Year 5 who has Autism and ADHD. 

This role is starting September 2026 and will be a temporary, long-term role.

The School is looking for someone patient, nurturing, and accommodating to the child’s learning needs for this KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant position. The hours of work are 08:30am- 15:30pm, Monday to Friday.

This KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they are doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensuring the child’s needs are being met. In this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
• Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
• Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
• Deliver catch-up sessions

Requirements or Skills:

• Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people
• Must have a passion for education
• Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
• Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
• Must be reliable and punctual
