Director of Business Development – Abu Dhabi

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Business Development to lead the commercial growth of a prestigious luxury resort in Abu Dhabi.

This executive role goes beyond traditional sales leadership, taking ownership of the resort's business development strategy across Sales, Marketing, Revenue, Distribution and Loyalty. We are seeking a commercially driven hospitality professional with an established international network, strong luxury market expertise and a proven ability to identify opportunities that drive sustainable revenue growth and elevate market positioning.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will shape and execute the resort's commercial strategy, developing high-value partnerships, expanding market presence and ensuring the resort continues to outperform within the luxury hospitality sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the resort's business development and commercial strategy to maximise revenue, profitability and market share.
• Lead and align the Sales, Marketing, Revenue, Distribution and Loyalty functions to achieve commercial objectives.
• Build and strengthen relationships with luxury travel consortia, premium travel agencies, corporate accounts, DMCs and high-net-worth clientele.
• Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships and emerging markets to support long-term growth.
• Work closely with Revenue Management to optimise pricing, forecasting, segmentation and distribution strategies.
• Drive commercial initiatives that enhance brand visibility, direct bookings and guest acquisition.
• Represent the resort at leading international luxury travel and hospitality events.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity and commercial performance to inform business decisions and future strategy.
• Lead, mentor and inspire a high-performing commercial team.

About You

• Significant senior commercial or business development experience within a luxury hotel or resort environment in the GCC region, if not the UAE
• Proven success delivering revenue growth through strategic business development and commercial leadership.
• Well-established relationships within luxury travel consortia and premium agency networks.
• Strong understanding of revenue management, distribution, marketing and luxury hospitality sales.
• Strategic thinker with exceptional leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience within an international luxury hospitality brand is highly desirable.
