Senior Mechanical Engineer - Static Assignment Type: Residential - Contract Start Date: 1st August 2026 End Date: 31st July 2027 Location: Esbjerg, Denmark Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 8 Hours per day Department: Engineering & Constructions (Eamp;C) Location to Perform the Work: Full Time Onshore Scope of Work The Senior Mechanical Engineer - Static provides high-level mechanical engineering support within the Engineering amp; Construction department and supports other departments (such as Business Development, CFR, Field Operations) with experienced mechanical engineering assistance and guidance. For modification projects on the existing installations, this role is responsible for mechanical engineering support to project managers and for following modifications through all phases from engineering until commissioning and startup. The role involves providing experienced mechanical engineering support during detailed design phases, requiring a deep understanding of the mechanical systems on the existing platforms to ensure new modifications can be implemented safely and efficiently into existing systems. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will review detailed design packages and assure the quality of the mechanical engineering elements with a strong focus on safety, layout and mechanical handling, constructability, pipe stress, and shutdown time and philosophy. The work involves participation in design meetings with internal and external stakeholders, participation in risk assessments such as HAZOP and HAZID, participation in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and potentially providing onshore or offshore support during construction, mechanical completion, commissioning, and start-up of facilities. When new Requests for Modifications (RFMs) are initiated, this role is responsible for maturing the original suggestion into a conceptual solution, which involves a technical description of the recommended solution including initial estimates on budget and timeline (Statement of Requirements). The Senior Mechanical Engineer will manage conceptual studies and feasibility studies, which typically involves management of external design contractors and liaising with several internal stakeholders. Background, Qualifications and Experience Qualification Level: Level 6, Bachelor's or equivalent level Technical Skills: An educational background corresponding to mechanical engineering or similar. Extensive experience within static mechanical piping and equipment design and calculations, pipe stress and fatigue evaluations, NDT and welding processes. Detailed knowledge of materials and quality control in the role of Technical Approver in a material master data creation environment. Behavioural Competencies
Language Skills Fluent in written and spoken English. Specific Knowledge and Experience Significant knowledge of the offshore oil and gas industry. Extensive and relevant experience within static mechanical discipline, such as piping and equipment design and layout. Experience with supervision and guidance during construction, installation, and commissioning (minimum 8-10 years). Clear understanding of process safety and Safety Critical Elements. Robust knowledge of applicable company and international standards. Level of Experience Required: Relevant work within the offshore oil and gas industry corresponding to a minimum of 8-10 years. |
