The Opportunity

Are you a graduate looking to gain practical classroom experience before starting a career in education? We are working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Warwick, who are seeking a motivated Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This full-time, term-time only role is ideal for aspiring primary teachers preparing for teacher training in 2026 or beyond. You’ll work closely with experienced teaching staff, supporting children across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2), helping pupils to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support class teachers in delivering creative and engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
• Provide one-to-one and small group learning support, particularly in core subjects such as Maths, English, and Phonics
• Assist with behaviour management and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those who need additional encouragement
• Help children build confidence, resilience, and a love for learning
• Contribute to extracurricular activities, school events, and enrichment clubs

Who We’re Looking For

For the Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant role, we are looking for positive, proactive graduates who meet the following criteria:

• Minimum 2:2 degree in any subject (Education, Psychology, English, or related fields desirable)
• A genuine passion for working with young children
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A caring, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning
• Previous experience working with children (e.g., in schools, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, or summer camps) is highly desirable
• A clear interest in pursuing a career in primary teaching
