The Company

A long-established UK-based manufacturing business operating within a specialist production environment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join its experienced maintenance team. The company is known for its quality-focused operations and continuous investment in modernising its engineering processes.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of a wide range of mechanical equipment, including high-speed rotating machinery. Familiarity with industrial steam and boiler systems is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This is a Mechanically biased role; however, any amount of electrical knowledge would be advantageous.

Key Duties:

• Perform both proactive and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and plant

• Working on all aspects of plant such as bearings, pumps, hydraulics, chains, some welding, fabrication, pipe work and compressed air maintenance.
• Support engineering projects, including equipment upgrades and installations

• Maintain and repair high-speed mechanical equipment
• Participate in weekend cover and on-call rota duties
• Adhere to all site safety procedures and engineering standards

The Successful Candidate:

• Time-served Mechanical Engineer with strong industrial experience
• Expertise in maintaining large, high-speed rotating equipment
• Familiarity with industrial steam systems preferred

Pay & Benefits:

• Basic salary £38000
• On-call retainer: £20 per night during on-call weeks
• Overtime: 1.5x hourly rate (Mon–Sat), 2x on Sundays
