Senior Quantity Surveying (SQS) Manager - Infrastructure & Engineering Projects

Location: 3 Days Hinkley Point / 2 Days Home Working

Salary: £450 - £500 per day (PAYE / Umbrella) - INSIDE IR35

6-9 Month Contract 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveying (SQS) Manager to lead the commercial delivery of complex infrastructure and engineering projects for a highly regarded client.

In this strategic leadership role, you’ll act as a key link between operational delivery teams and senior commercial management, overseeing risk, procurement, commercial governance, and contract performance across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the commercial strategy at project level, working alongside senior stakeholders.
• Manage commercial risk and identify key opportunities across the project lifecycle.
• Lead on NEC contract administration and drive high standards in reporting and forecasting.
• Support dispute resolution while preserving relationships and reputation.
• Oversee procurement, supply chain engagement, and cost estimates with the Pre-Construction Team.
• Mentor and guide the wider commercial team to maintain best practices and compliance.
• Deliver against corporate reporting and performance timetables.

Ideal Candidate:

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial frameworks.
• Proven commercial leadership in infrastructure, utilities, or engineering environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing commercial disputes and ensuring robust governance.
• MAPS Test familiarity (desirable).
