The Role
As a Solar PV Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems and associated renewable technologies. Working across large-scale commercial and domestic sites, you’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality installations.

You’ll also support the delivery of heat pump and EV charging systems as part of wider low-carbon projects, gaining valuable cross-technology experience in the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out the electrical installation of ground-mounted and roof-mounted solar PV systems

• Commission and test installed systems to ensure safe and efficient operation

• Perform electrical servicing and maintenance on new and existing solar PV systems

• Support the installation and commissioning of heat pump systems

• Install and maintain EV charging units for domestic and commercial customers

• Complete accurate documentation, certification, and handover information

• Ensure all work is compliant with industry standards, regulations, and H&S practices

• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times on site

The Ideal Candidate

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)

• Inspection and Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent)

• Experience working with solar PV installations – both roof- and ground-mounted

• Familiarity with EV charging systems and/or low-carbon technologies (desirable)

• Excellent fault-finding and commissioning skills

• Good understanding of current IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition preferred)

• Able to work independently or as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail, safety-focused, and quality-driven

• Full UK driving licence (essential)
