Job Title: Interior Designer

Location: Qatar

Assignment Type: Initial 1-year contract (possible to extend)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (BSc/SA or equivalent) in Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of broad experience in building projects.
• Proven ability to resolve a full spectrum of interior design and architectural issues.
• Proficiency in both design and construction phases, including scope of works development, specification writing, and materials review.
• Must have knowledge of building materials and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review and comment on consultant/contractor designs, drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with company standards and project briefs.
• Collaborate with Senior Project Engineers to clarify the design brief prior to execution.
• Ensure spatial and functional compatibility across all disciplines (Interior, Architectural, Structural, MEP).
• Ensure interior designs, finishes, and FF&E selections are functional, cost-effective, and meet user requirements.
• Recommend design adjustments where necessary.
• Identify and resolve design-related issues proactively.
• Follow directions from Lead Project Engineers, Head Designer, and Senior Project Engineers diligently and professionally.
• Maintain strict confidentiality concerning company policies and project data.
• Develop and coordinate FF&E and Signage tender packages, including specification writing, vendor selection, and evaluation in collaboration with the Procurement team.
• Retrieve and utilize record drawings from internal archives as needed.
• Assist in the updating of material registers, specifications, and standard details.
• Estimate man-hours required for tasks and report to supervisors for scheduling.
• Validate existing drawings for accuracy and escalate discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Civil/Architectural teams for drawing updates as per the design brief.
• Oversee and coordinate procurement of design materials and tools with the Head Designer.
