NPI Engineer - Injection Moulding

Overview:

MDE is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced New Projects Introduction Engineer (NPI Engineer) to join our client's team in Kent. Our client is a successful and growing company, securing projects in various sectors such as Niche Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, and Medical. This is a newly created role that allows the right candidate to be involved in projects from start to finish, with the flexibility to shape working practises to meet project needs.

This position involves a mix of office and shop floor work, with occasional travel to customers and suppliers. It is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and commercially astute individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to the Design & Projects Team with new project launches.
• Maintain communication with customers and suppliers.
• Manage and control project data.
• Create and distribute weekly timing plans.
• Organise and attend mould trials, reporting any issues.
• Perform part measurements using CMM and other metrology equipment.
• Submit ISIR, PSW, PPAP, and FAIR documentation.
• Develop work instructions and visual aids for production teams.
• Oversee the handover of new projects from technical to manufacturing teams.

Skills & Experience:

• Proficient in CAD systems (design skills are a plus).
• Advanced skills in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Knowledge of injection mould tooling, processing, and materials.
• Familiarity with secondary operations such as ultrasonic welding, painting, printing, and manual assembly.
• Experience working with ISO9001 quality standards and systems.
