Location: Birmingham (2-3 days in the office)
Salary: £50,000
Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Are you a data professional with strong experience in financial services - from pensions and insurance through to mortgages and investments? We're looking for a Data Lead to take ownership of the onboarding, validation, and management of large-scale customer and employer data within a major financial services environment.

The Role
This position is central to ensuring the integrity and accuracy of sensitive financial data, supporting regulatory compliance, and enabling timely customer outcomes. You will oversee the onboarding of bulk data, lead on data migration and change projects, and monitor performance against agreed standards.

As Data Lead, you'll manage a team of analysts and assistants, providing oversight, expertise, and direction. You'll also work closely with senior management, employers, and third-party providers to resolve issues, embed improvements, and deliver effective reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Lead on the onboarding and maintenance of financial services data, including bulk data changes and transfers.
Oversee monthly and annual submissions from external partners, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
Deliver data cleansing and quality improvement projects to support statutory and regulatory reporting.
Produce and present complex analysis and reporting to senior stakeholders.
Act as subject matter expert for data processes, mapping, and systems requirements.
Engage with external partners to improve data quality and manage compliance.
Line manage and develop a team of data analysts and assistants.

About You
We are seeking someone with:
Significant experience in financial services data management (mortgages, pensions, insurance, or similar).
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in financial services.
Proven ability to deliver data analysis, root cause investigations, and process improvements.
Advanced Excel skills and experience handling large databases.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Previous experience in line management.

Professional qualifications in data, finance, pensions or mortgage administration would be advantageous but are not essential.

Why Apply?
This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape data processes within a large, complex financial services environment. If you're analytical, organised, and passionate about driving improvements in data management, we'd love to hear from you.
