RMS are seeking a proactive Paint Line Team Leader to join our clients busy Workshop team in Corby.

  • Location: Corby
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)
  • Pay: £19.60 per hour (overtime and unsociable hours paid at premium rates)

About the Role:

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring workflow efficiency, meeting productivity targets, and driving team performance on the Paint Line. Key responsibilities may include:

  • Support the Workshop Manager and Supervisor in ensuring all jobs are carried out promptly, correctly and effectively.
  • Distribute daily duties across the Paint Line team, ensuring maximum productivity and quality output.
  • Direct, support and motivate team members, providing training and guidance where required.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations, maintaining high quality standards at all times.
  • Drive paint line throughput to maximise utilisation and efficiency.
  • Monitor workflow and staff allocation to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Complete and maintain accurate paperwork and records.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety and COSHH regulations are adhered to, with a strong focus on accident prevention.
  • Undertake additional duties as required, appropriate to the role.

About you:

  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or team-leading role within the automotive industry.
  • Desirable Qualifications: NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle Paint Spraying or similar.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of vehicle paint and preparation processes.
  • Health & Safety: Fully conversant with Workshop H&S standards.
  • Leadership: Able to motivate, support and lead a team effectively.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, no DR offences).
  • PC literate, confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Flexible, adaptable and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working a weekly rotating shift pattern (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm).
