Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical civil engineering support during the detailed design phase of solar and energy storage projects.
• Ensure safe and efficient integration of civil systems into overall project designs, focusing on quality, safety, schedule, and cost optimisation.
• Review, validate, and certify civil design documentation to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and manuals from internal teams and external suppliers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for solar PV and battery energy storage civil designs.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams during project development, tendering, execution, and operation phases.
• Ensure all designs meet applicable safety, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operational requirements.
• Lead or assist in defining civil systems including site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, and utility design.
• Engage effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks affecting civil engineering deliverables and timelines.
• Foster knowledge-sharing and close communication between engineering teams locally and internationally.
• Provide technical input to procurement to validate materials and services.
• Participate in client meetings to present designs, address queries, and ensure satisfaction.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years' professional experience in civil engineering, ideally within energy infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in design and visualisation software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12D, QGIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Drains, or similar.
• Experience with site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, hydrology and flood modelling, drainage systems, and regulatory approvals according to Australian standards.
• Strong knowledge of National Electricity Rules (NER) substation and solar farm civil design standards preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
