Graduate Maths Trainee Teacher – Candidate Specification

We are looking for an exceptional Graduate Maths Trainee Teacher who holds:

  • A Maths (or closely related) degree with a 2:1 or higher from a top-30 UK university.
  • Strong A-Level results in Maths or Further Maths, and a deep subject knowledge you’re confident to share
  • Committed to creating inclusive, accessible lessons where all learners can thrive
  • Experience in a classroom or tutoring is desirable
  • Passionate about education and serious about progressing into teacher training and beyond.

Graduate Maths Trainee Teacher – Role Responsibilities

As a Graduate Maths Trainee Teacher, you’ll be an integral part of the department from day one:

  • Lead a small number of lessons per week, gradually increasing responsibility as your confidence grows.
  • Work alongside experienced teachers to co-plan and deliver lessons, mark work, and track progress.
  • Deliver intervention sessions and support pupils one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Support homework clubs, revision sessions, or extra-curricular Maths activities.
  • Be a positive role model and build relationships that help students feel confident and supported in their learning.
