Senior Process Engineer - Oil Field Projects

Location: Doha, Qatar

A prominent energy company is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to provide technical input and review documentation related to major oil field developments, both domestically and internationally. The role will involve supporting the design, development, and execution of brownfield and greenfield oil projects, including those under JV, EPSA, or DPSA agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct process simulation studies to validate process data and support the selection of the best development options presented by international consultants or contractors.
• Participate in design reviews at various engineering phases of JV/EPSA/DPSA projects to identify the most cost-effective designs for new developments.
• Perform supplementary process studies such as thermal analysis, hydraulic calculations, and transient analysis to ensure the suitability and effectiveness of selected facilities.
• Conduct pipeline hydraulic studies to optimize pipeline size, predict slug volume, and assess pipeline flow regimes at different turndown conditions.
• Assist in conducting techno-economic evaluations of new oil field development projects and expansions of existing offshore topside facilities. Provide comparison reports for various options.
• Contribute to the review and screening of new development technologies, assessing process-related aspects.
• Review and ensure the technical integrity of project deliverables during the Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC phases, including process simulations, project design memorandums, equipment designs, and execution strategies.
• Monitor and report on project progress, highlighting key concerns and recommending actions to overcome potential issues.
• Support the integration of project schedules across multiple projects to identify overlaps, resolve conflicts, and capture synergies during execution.
• Maintain technical and cost databases for oil field facilities, including equipment lists, design specifications, and operational performance metrics.
• Review and advise on discrepancies in the Annual Work Program & Budget (WP&B) submitted by JV/EPSA/DPSA operators.
• Mentor Qatari engineers and assist in career development, contributing to Qatarization initiatives.

Key Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (or a related field).
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years of experience in offshore brownfield and greenfield oil and gas projects.
• Project Experience: Exposure to all stages of the oil project lifecycle, including operating assets.
• Technical Knowledge: Desirable knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation engineering for process plant and equipment.
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with process simulation software (e.g., Hysys, Pipesim), piping hydraulic calculation tools (e.g., Flarenet), and cost estimation software (e.g., Questor).
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with offshore oil and gas facilities and their operational and engineering requirements.
