Job Title: Principal Process Engineer

Location: Doha, Qatar

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our team and provide technical support across both operated and non-operated assets. This role will involve overseeing asset performance, implementing best practices, and providing strategic guidance to ensure optimal operations. Additionally, you will manage production accounting and database systems to support informed decision-making and drive value improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Benchmark and assess the performance of existing facilities, reviewing design targets, production yields, and operating philosophies.
• Identify and propose improvement opportunities within asset classes and across other facilities to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Perform medium to long-term assessments on the supply-demand balance for gas, ethane, and hydrocarbon liquids, supporting decisions on expansion or upgrades for processing and pipeline systems.
• Develop consistent reporting methodologies to track value improvement in operational excellence areas.
• Prepare and review regular performance reports, including ad-hoc reports, to enable management to monitor progress against objectives.
• Provide technical input regarding facility performance, including production, reliability, operability, availability, and maintainability, ensuring new development projects are practical and free from future operational issues.
• Manage data disclosure internally and externally, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Provide technical support during negotiations of agreements, including those for joint ventures and commercial agreements, ensuring cost sharing and alignment of facilities.
• Coordinate and prepare business plans and continuity plans for the department.
• Contribute to the development of the workforce and business continuity strategies.
• Identify and propose optimization opportunities, offering alternative solutions and synergies that lead to improved efficiency, reliability, and reduced carbon footprint.
• Mentor and train junior engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer, career development, and contributing to workforce development plans.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in upstream and midstream operations.
• In-depth technical and operational experience in oil and gas facilities.
• Strong understanding of process engineering standards and codes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English.
• Familiarity with process simulation software such as HYSYS, as well as other multimedia and office software.
• Broad operational plant experience and a deep understanding of project execution stages, from design to commissioning.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment, resolving technical challenges and coordinating across teams.
• Capable of managing and prioritising multiple tasks to meet deadlines, even in urgent circumstances.
