Work Location: Qatar

Contract Term: 36 Months (with possibility to extend)

Working Schedule:

  • Work hours per day: 10 hrs/day
  • Work days per week: 6 days/week
  • Work days per month: 26 days/month

     

Job Purpose:

The Head of Contracts will provide contracts engineering support for the CO2 Sequestration Project, focusing on managing and overseeing EPC contracts. The role will offer contractual strategy advice regarding change orders, variations, and claims, and support the Project Management team with contractual activities related to the project lifecycle (Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC stages).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contracting Activities:
    • Lead the execution of EPC contracts, including issuing EPC ITT, developing bid evaluation plans, and ensuring stakeholders' alignment.
    • Ensure timely contractual guidance to project teams, tracking milestones, and managing contractors' obligations.
    • Develop and maintain contractual processes and reporting mechanisms for claims and variations.
  2. Contractual Support & Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and regulations.
    • Highlight contract breaches in a timely manner and manage EPC contractor negotiations related to change orders and claims.
    • Coordinate legal issues with the Legal department, under the guidance of the Business Division Manager.
  3. Contract Transfer & Audit:
    • Support the smooth transition of contracts to the Operations team after the project demobilization phase.
    • Ensure compliance with project audit activities and support the Gates system review.
  4. Stakeholder Management:
    • Work closely with internal project teams (e.g., Operations, Legal, and Commercial) to align on project delivery and address contractual concerns.

       

Job Context & Major Challenges:

  • EPC Contract Management: Managing contracts through all phases of the CO2 Sequestration Project, ensuring the terms and conditions are met and addressing challenges related to changes or claims.
  • Dynamic Environment: The role requires managing high-pressure tasks, tight deadlines, and fostering collaboration in a highly dynamic project team environment.

     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Law, or Business.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 10+ years in contracting, specifically EPC contracts, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience in contract administration and providing strategic advice on claims, variations, and change orders.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software relevant to contract management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
