Principal Development Control Officer – Minerals & Waste
Location: North Northamptonshire (covering West Northamptonshire and Rutland under contract)
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Principal Development Control Officer with a strong background in minerals and waste planning to join our team. In this key role, you will lead on the assessment and determination of complex minerals and waste development applications across North Northamptonshire, West Northamptonshire, and Rutland.

Key responsibilities:

  • Determine applications for minerals and waste development, including site visits and pre-application advice.

  • Present applications to planning committees and represent the authority as required.

  • Monitor existing operational and permitted sites and any authorised developments.

  • Initiate and manage enforcement action where necessary to ensure compliance.

About you:

  • Significant experience in minerals and waste development management is essential.

  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex cases and provide clear professional advice.

  • Confident in committee presentations and stakeholder engagement.
