About the Rol

We are working with a confidential client in the luxury hospitality sector who is seeking an Assistant Manager for a new high-profile opening on Madison Avenue. Inspired by the timeless elegance of European cafés and boulangeries, this concept will deliver beautifully crafted pastries, bread, and desserts in a refined yet welcoming setting.

As Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in leading day-to-day operations, ensuring impeccable guest service, smooth team coordination, and flawless attention to detail. This is a hands-on leadership role, balancing floor presence with operational oversight, team mentorship, and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead service on the floor with a polished, guest-first approach.
• Handle guest concerns with discretion, professionalism, and warmth.
• Supervise and mentor front-of-house staff, fostering a culture of accountability and pride.
• Support onboarding, training, and coaching of new hires.
• Ensure smooth daily operations, from opening to closing.
• Oversee cleanliness, organization, and ambiance (music, lighting, displays).
• Assist with scheduling, inventory management, vendor relations, and cash handling.
• Maintain in-depth product knowledge and ensure the team communicates it with confidence.
• Uphold brand standards to deliver a consistently refined experience.

Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of hospitality or café experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Calm and solutions-oriented under pressure, particularly during peak service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor aligned with a premium hospitality brand.
• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).
