Quality Controller

Location: Bedford

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: Rotating 4 On & 4 Off, 6am to 6pm & 6pm to 6am

Salary: £27,846 per annum + £3,288.96 Shift Premium

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Bedford based market leading manufacturer who are seeking a dedicated Quality Controller to join their team. This role is integral to ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance, in line with both customer requirements and industry regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring products, carrying out testing, and ensuring safety and quality systems are adhered to across the site. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of food safety and quality standards who is looking to join a supportive team and make a meaningful contribution to maintaining excellence within a well-established business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor product quality against specifications and testing schedules.
• Carry out metal detection checks and report/resolve any failures.
• Escalate non-conformances in line with procedures.
• Ensure Certificates of Analysis and product labels are accurate and on time.
• Support general quality and food safety systems, including documentation and audits.
• Report health & safety concerns and assist with additional duties as required.

Skills & Experience:

• HACCP Level 2 or 3 and internal auditing qualification.
• Food safety-related qualification.
• Previous experience in a similar food manufacturing role.
• Knowledge of BRC, ISO, or retailer standards (desirable).
• Strong communication, IT, and organisational skills.
