Graduate Teaching Assistant: Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Work alongside teachers to support engaging, challenging lessons across a range of subjects
• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to boost progress and confidence
• Help prepare lesson resources and support classroom activities
• Provide encouragement and guidance to students of all abilities
• Gain real classroom experience that will prepare you for teacher training or education-related careers

Graduate Teaching Assistant: Who We’re Looking For

To succeed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you should have:

• A degree (2:1 or higher) in a core subject such as English, Maths, Science, Humanities, or Psychology (Russell Group or top-30 university preferred)
• A strong academic record at both GCSE and A-Level
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire young people
• Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude to supporting learning
• An interest in progressing into teaching, education, or child-focused careers
• Previous experience as a TA is desirable but not essential
