SMT Reworker – Surface Mount Technician

A high-performance electronics manufacturer is seeking a skilled SMT Reworker to join its precision build and repair team. This is a hands-on role for a technician with proven experience in surface mount rework, including fine-pitch components and BGA replacement, working to IPC standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform SMT rework on PCBs, including 0201, 0402, and BGA components

• Use hot air rework stations, soldering irons, X-ray and inspection tools

• Carry out track repairs, modifications, and component replacements

• Interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and rework instructions accurately

• Maintain high standards of workmanship and cleanliness

• Support other production areas with soldering and assembly tasks when required

Essential Skills:

• Strong manual soldering skills with SMT and through-hole components

• Experience with BGA rework, reballing, and fine-pitch soldering

• Familiarity with IPC-7711/21 and IPC-A-610 standards

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and meet tight quality benchmarks
