MONDAY - THURSDAY: 8AM - 5PM AND FRIDAY 8AM - 1PM 

£38,000 - £45,000 PER ANNUM DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Toolmaker to join our well-established client based in WALSALL, WEST MIDLANDS on a full-time permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering an amazing annual salary and room to grow and progress. 

This role is integral to the ongoing maintenance, repair, and optimisation of press tooling.

Day to Day Duties

• Perform dismantling, assembly, and maintenance of both transfer and progression tooling
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults with a strong focus on accuracy and precision
• Interpret and utilise CAD/CAM designs for use on XYZ 3-axis milling machines and EDM wire erodes
• Evaluate tool condition and determine whether repairs can be completed in-press or require removal to the tool room
• Maintain tools in a condition that avoids indirect cost depreciation and ensures long-term value
• Collaborate effectively with team members, shift leaders, facilities maintenance, and press operations to ensure efficient issue resolution
• Estimate job durations, develop repair plans, and facilitate seamless handovers across shifts
• Complete comprehensive and accurate maintenance and repair documentation
• Ensure all tasks are completed within strict production and customer time-frames

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in mechanical problem solving and high-precision tooling
• Working knowledge of transfer and/or progression tools (preferred)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting CAD/CAM data
• Experience operating XYZ 3-axis milling and EDM wire machines
• Familiarity with ONECNC software is highly desirable
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
