Our client is a charming, traditional tea room in the heart of Central Edinburgh, known for it's welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and high-quality, homemade food. With 32 covers and a loyal customer base, they focus on freshly prepared breakfasts, light lunches, and home baking — all made with care and attention.

The café is currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, giving you a guaranteed two consecutive days off each week.

The Role

  • We’re looking for a passionate Café Cook to join our small, dedicated team. You’ll take the lead on preparing and cooking our daily menu, which includes:

    • Full cooked breakfasts

    • Homemade soups, quiches, paninis, and rolls

    • Cakes and scones (all baked in-house)

    • You’ll be expected to handle day-to-day prep, service, and baking, maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

What We Offer:

  • £13–£14 per hour, depending on experience

  • Generous tips, often adding £4/hr extra in the summer

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience cooking in a café or similar environment

  • Confident baking skills (scones, cakes, etc.)

  • Ability to handle breakfast and lunch service independently

  • Good prep and time management skills

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
