Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant: Person Specification 

• Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Ideal candidate will have achieved 2:1 or higher in Maths or Physics based degree 

• Some experience working with young people in some capacity is desirable but not essential  

• A can-do attitude as well as an enthusiastic attitude towards learning 

• The ideal Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant for this post will hold a genuine interest in establishing a long-term career in the education sector 

Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant: Role Specification 

This well-established, co-educational secondary school is located in central Croydon with excellent transport links. With around 580 pupils, many from multilingual and disadvantaged backgrounds, the school is committed to helping every student thrive. As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will: 

• Provide both 1-1 and small group intervention sessions to learners across KS3, 4 & 5 

• Build meaningful relationships with students that will positively influence their school experience 

• Be present in lessons to aid learning outcomes set by the teacher 

• Enjoy the opportunity to plan your own tutoring sessions aimed at deepening understandings with a range of learners 

• Weekly training opportunities showing you the proper educational practice and strengthening your skillset 

• This Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant role is full-time. You will follow the school week, working Monday-Friday; 8:30am to 4:00pm daily.
