Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young learners? Do you have experience working in challenging educational environments, supporting both students and their families? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our dynamic Pastoral Team as a Pastoral Support Worker at our inner-city primary school in Birmingham.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with students, parents, and carers as part of the Pastoral Team.
  • Provide support in areas such as well-being, mental health, social skills, behaviour management, and safeguarding.
  • Offer mentoring and guidance to students, enabling them to effectively engage with their learning.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety, happiness, and success of all students within the school environment.
  • Support Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members in overseeing Attendance and Pastoral matters.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Family Support Worker or in schools, particularly in Pupil Referral Units, is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications related to childcare and education are preferred.
  • Ability to obtain two professional references.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of children and young learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse and dynamic educational setting.
  • Resilience and adaptability in managing challenging situations.
