Job Title: Senior Geologist

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Office-based)

Contract Type: Up to 2-year contract, with possibility of renewal

Visa/Sponsorship: Open to Malaysian candidates

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Geologist to lead geological studies for a growing portfolio of offshore oil and gas fields, including both developed assets and near-field exploration opportunities. The role offers the chance to work with a leading international operator, providing technical expertise to support field development and drilling operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead geological studies and contribute to field reviews and development plans
• Build and maintain 3D geological models
• Present technical findings to internal and external stakeholders, including partners and service companies
• Provide geological input to well proposals, post-drill reports, and drilling operations
• Mentor and guide junior geologists
• Act as an interface between petroleum development and exploration teams
• Collaborate with multiple disciplines, including drilling, wellsite operations, and reservoir teams

Requirements:

• Degree in Geology (BSc), with MSc or PhD preferred
• Minimum 10-13 years of oil industry experience, including experience in an operating company
• Fully conversant with development geology, including structural geology, stratigraphy, and sedimentology
• Ability to critically assess work from petrophysics, geophysics, and reservoir engineering disciplines
• Proven expertise in geomodelling
• Experience in wellsite geological operations
• Seismic interpretation experience is advantageous
