Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant – Person Specification:

  • A 2:1 or higher degree in a Humanities subject (e.g. History, English, Geography, RS)
  • A passion for education and a desire to support young people’s learning
  • Some experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
  • Ambition to pursue a long-term career in education

Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant – Role Overview:

As a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide targeted support in lessons across the Humanities department (KS3 & KS4)
  • Work 1:1 and with small groups to boost confidence and understanding in subjects such as History, English, Geography, or RS
  • Assist teachers in the delivery of engaging, high-quality lessons
  • Support students with varying needs to help close learning gaps
  • Plan and deliver tailored intervention sessions when appropriate
  • Take part in weekly training and professional development to build your skills

This is a full-time, term-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, starting in September 2025. Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant
