English Graduate Teaching Assistant: Person Specification

  • English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Ideal candidate will have achieved 2:1 or higher in an English or Humanities based degree
  • Some experience working with young people in some capacity is desirable but not essential
  • A can-do attitude as well as an enthusiastic attitude towards learning
  • An open nature and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with students
  • The ideal English Graduate Teaching Assistant for this post will hold a genuine interest in establishing a long-term career in the education sector

As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver 1-1 and small group intervention sessions to support learners across KS3, 4 & 5
  • Build trusted relationships with students that enhance their school experience
  • Support classroom learning and lesson delivery alongside qualified teachers
  • Plan and deliver targeted tutoring sessions to help students deepen their understanding and confidence in English
  • Benefit from weekly training sessions designed to develop your skills and knowledge of educational practice

This English Graduate Teaching Assistant role is full-time. You will follow the school week, working Monday-Friday; 8:30am to 4:00pm daily during term-time.
