Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor (Fixed-Term Contract)

Rate: £18,000 - £20,000 for 6 months

About the Role:

We are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Middlesbrough. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation teams on-site.

• Ensure that mechanical works are carried out in compliance with technical drawings and industry standards.

• Monitor daily work progress, ensuring high standards of workmanship.

• Conduct quality checks and ensure mechanical installations meet all required specifications.

• Oversee the handling and maintenance of mechanical components and structures.

• Provide support to the project manager, ensuring the project timeline is adhered to.

• Ensure health and safety standards are maintained on-site, including conducting toolbox talks and risk assessments.

• Assist with the planning and scheduling of mechanical work.

• Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs and project documentation.

• Communicate effectively with site operatives, subcontractors, and project managers.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience: Previous experience in mechanical fitting and building structures, ideally in a supervisory role.

• Skills: Strong documentation skills, capable of using a computer, managing emails, updating systems, and reading technical drawings.

• Site Management: Ability to oversee workers and provide site management support (beyond basic support role).

• Availability: Must be able to start immediately.

• Local candidates preferred.

Desirable Qualifications:

• A background in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

• Knowledge of mechanical installations in construction projects.

• Proven experience working with mechanical drawings and systems.

• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
