Service Manager Job Details
Basic Salary:£50,000pa + Company Car
Working Hours:Monday-Friday - 08:00-17:30 + 1 in 2 Saturday Mornings
Location: Manchester
 
My client, a well-established & respected commercial dealer, who are looking to appoint an experienced Service Manager to run their commercial vehicle site in Manchester.

You will be in control of a team of around 20-25 staff from technicians to backroom-staff in a busy commercial vehicle operation. The dealership look after both rigid and artic commercial vehicles so experience in this industry is a must.
 
The ideal person would be one who has come up through the ranks and has been on tools.

Responsibilities of a Service Manager
·Supervising and motivating our team of Service Technicians and proactively reviewing daily workload to seek opportunities that will help drive performance.
·Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction by implementing quality checks, resolving any issues, and re-assuring customers by providing all necessary information and advice.
·Supervises the daily time keeping of technicians and manages authorised absence to ensure a consistent level of attendance
·Have proven results within the commercial vehicle trade.
·Maintaining relationships with vehicle manufacturer and providing technical information for Technicians during repair operations
·Complying with Health & Safety regulations and ensuring high standards of housekeeping and security are achieved and maintained within the workshop and surrounding areas
·Dealing with wages and overtime
·A strong team player who can lead from the front.
 
Skills and Qualifications of a Service Manager
·Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage a workshop
·Well-developed management and leadership skills
·Must have experience as a Service Manager or similar role within the HGV Workshop
·Hands on management stance rather than a back-office manager
·The ability to exceed targets and deadlines is a must.
·A full, valid and clean UK driving license
