We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a highly reputable manufacturer in Telford. The role focuses on performing planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring optimal performance of the plant in line with health, safety, and quality standards, while driving improvements across the site.

• Follow site procedures related to quality, environmental, and health & safety systems
• Continuously improve plant operations, processes, and the working environment, collaborating across departments
• Assist in monitoring external contractors and ensuring compliance with site rules.
• Conduct regular plant inspections and audits
• Respond quickly to unscheduled plant stoppages to minimize downtime
• Utilise system for recording labour, materials, and performing planned maintenance tasks (PPM)
• Safely and efficiently repair plant equipment and services
• Participate in maintaining the overall efficiency of the maintenance department, including tool management, housekeeping, and spare parts control
• Be part of the maintenance call-out program.
• Diagnose and resolve plant/process defects using Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Work within budget guidelines and seek cost-reduction opportunities
• Engage in and promote a Safety-First culture
• Identify and pursue personal development and training opportunities
• Share and implement best practices within a process driven industry.

Skills/Experience Required

• A recognized Mechanical engineering apprenticeship and/ or formal qualification.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical components such as Lathes, Milling, Welding, Fabrication, Hydraulics and Pneumatics).
