Grid Connections Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000

Location: Bristol (Hybrid – 3 days a week)

About Us

MDE Group UK is seeking an experienced Grid Connections Manager to oversee all grid-related aspects of our expanding pipeline in the UK. We are in search of an individual who is passionate about engineering, renewable energy, and project development. If you possess a background in electrical engineering and have experience collaborating with DNOs/National Grid and/or ICPs throughout the project lifecycle, this role could be the perfect fit for you.

Responsibilities

• Conducting network analysis at both distribution and transmission levels to identify potential locations with available capacity.
• Engaging with DNOs/National Grid for pre-application meetings and preparing grid applications.
• Providing technical due diligence to grid offers, including optimization of connection solutions, cost assessments, and curtailment evaluations.
• Offering grid inputs such as substation design, cost assessments, and securities for financial modeling and planning purposes.
• Managing ICPs and consultants to progress projects to RTB/energization, including reviewing design submissions and overseeing construction works.
• Providing timely support to the sales processes and preparing grid reports/strategic advice for the Management team.

Qualifications

• Experience working for a DNO/National Grid or similar role as a renewable’s developer, preferably in planning/design/connections.
• A degree in Electrical Power Systems and/or Electrical Engineering with power system analysis skills and EHV network design knowledge.
