We’re pleased to present the opportunity to join Urenco (UUK). Based at our Capenhurst site, you’ll play a key role within a team who are supporting the installation and commissioning of cascades, which are complex machines with moving parts, an essential component of uranium enrichment. Reporting to the Cascade Repopulation Outage and Commissioning Manager, this position will ensure the secure handling and installation/commissioning of centrifuge technology when handed over from the manufacturer, ensuring that agreed security protocols are applied and adhered to in adherence to engineering procedure.

What will your day look like?

• Co-ordination and preparation of commissioning documentation and mobilisation of equipment and materials to support each outage
• Deputising when required in place of the manager
• Writing high level technical reports and providing documentation to other teams
• Working within the maintenance function/team, but working collaboratively alongside an EC&I engineering team
• Management of cascade refurbishment assets and equipment to support each plant outage, ensuring all maintenance and compliance is kept in date
• Supervise failed machine transfers to the failed machine store
• Support cascade commissioning activities, including of writing commissioning schedules and capturing key performance requirements
• Safe system of work support and review contractor RAMS to support each outage (Operational Instructions, Radiological Controlled Procedures)
• Engagement with e-minus planning to ensure on time delivery of outages

What do you need to be great at this role?

• Degree in relevant discipline-specific Engineering (as well as any additional qualifications, such as B026 DAP Commissioning, B300 IC Commissioning ETC)
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to develop solutions to technical problems and present in a logical manner.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient in the use of SAP, Microsoft Office and ReAct applications.
• The ability to manage the performance of both internal and external service providers to ensure that mutually agreed standards, targets and general expectations are met
• Excellent people and performance management skills and the ability to lead an operational team.
• Production and execution of commissioning documentation
• Chemical, Nuclear Process or similarly highly regulated operations leadership experience
• Knowledge of enrichment processes and technology
